National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum

The Cowboy museum was confronted with the challenge of marketing the museum enterprise outside its events and special exhibits.

When almost all museums are asking the visitor to do one thing: REMEMBER. To relive something that is bygone – a relic – only relevant if enough people choose to heed its remembrance. Prairie Surf Creative worked with the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to strive for something altogether different.

“Find Your West” is a unique and adventurous choice for a museum. The action verb FIND is asking for one to DISCOVER.  It sets the museum apart as a vibrant, alive space that calls out for young and old to not simply dwell on a bygone era, but to embrace and inherit a never-dying worldview and ethos of the American cowboy.

And here is where we get to have the most fun, because we are helping each unique visitor define and explore, not what WE mean by “Your West” – but what THEY mean by “Your West”.  It’s a state of being while maintaining the integrity that generational visitors ascribe to the term.

The State Chamber of Commerce

All too often, when people visit Oklahoma, the prevailing sentiment is one of surprise if not astonishment- Oklahoma is MORE than they expected. The reason is simple. We’ve got to do a better job of telling our story!

The State Chamber approached Prairie Surf Creative to do just that; tell the success stories of their membership, the Oklahoma business community and how the Chamber helps affect legislative change to create a pro-growth climate statewide.  The stories are numerous and cascade across many different verticals, industries and people.

This series explores those businesses, the role they play in shaping our state and the backstories of the visionaries who bring those businesses to life driving our economy and our culture.

When Price College of Business tapped us to produce a capital campaign video to raise funds to continue their vision of becoming bigger, broader, and better, it’s not to be taken lightly and comes with great responsibility.

The landscape: The fourth industrial revolution – marked by an explosion of digital data from ubiquitous, connected smart devices, coupled with breakthroughs in AI, robotics, and machine-to-machine communication – is transforming manufacturing and service sectors and altering consumer behavior. Advances in virtual and augmented reality will change how we work, play, and live.

OU Price partnered with Prairie Surf Creative to script a compelling narrative sizzle that illustrates how the college stands at the forefront of a new era of technological and social change and they are doing something about it by preparing the next generation of business leaders. This new era of business requires new breeds of highly skilled business professionals and entrepreneurs who see and use business as a force for good in the world: to ensure the enduring global competitiveness of Oklahoma and the nation.

The result is an energetic and engaging sizzle which captures the momentum the college has as it launches into this ambitious endeavor. Featuring the voice of football legend Brian Bosworth, this piece showcases why OU Price is a leading graduate program.

Sometimes we work with local brands, other times we partner with national brands.

The dream is when we can create and deliver on an idea to bring both together.  Cadillac and 405 Magazine raised some promotional challenges for our team: create a stunning collection of brand films that feature the best of our city, naturally highlight Cadillac and focus on gardening maven and social media juggernaut Linda Vater.

The result was an elevated tour of some of the most impressive homes in Oklahoma City. This series explores everything from the eco-friendly home built for entertaining to the modern and magical haven’s nestled in one of the state’s most exclusive neighborhoods.
